Bryan Bonahoom

 About Me

Until Bryan co-founded Brickworld in 2007, he was best known for his actvities within the LEGO Mindstorms community.  Bryan was a member of the Mindstorms Development Panel in 2006 and has been one of the Mindstorms Community Partners since its inception in 2007.  Bryan focuses efforts on FIRST LEGO League, volunteering his time as a coach, referee, judge, and coaching mentor whenever he can make time.  This time is considered well-spent as the goal of FIRST LEGO League is to teach kids how to solve problems and how to think, not how to memorize.  Bryan's FLL teams have won the regional competion for best robot performance for 4 consecutive years.  They have also won 1st place at the state level in the project awards, 2nd place in robot design and teamwork, and in 2011 they were awarded the coveted core values nomination for the state of Indiana.

Bryan's robotics efforts include being a member of the Monster Chess team and many competition awards.  Bryan was also part of the team that developed the specification for the Great Ball Contraption in 2005.  Bryan's picture was featured on the LEGO Mindstorms set from 2009 - 2011 alongside Steve Hassenplug (another IndyLG member) and Chris Smith from Texas.

Since founding Brickworld, Bryan has become widely known in the community for the efforts to organize and execute a great convention that is dedicated to the interest of AFOLs.  Bryan also led the effort to partner Brickworld with IndyLUG for the creation of Brickworld Indy.  Brickworld has also expanded Bryan's horizon's as he now builds creations across many areas of the hobby instead of focusing his efforts only on robotics.
